We support meaningful charity projects that change lives

The Openwork Foundation is a registered UK charity which funds charity projects across the UK and overseas that support vulnerable people who are facing difficult circumstances. Our colleagues and partner firms help us to raise funds and choose the charities we support.

Our mission

We unite through innovative, impactful volunteering and
fundraising activities to raise money, provide grants and support meaningful charity projects that change lives.

Our strength comes from our network of supporters from the Openwork Partnership, 2plan, Omnis and Owl Financial.

Our story

Over 44 years, the Openwork Foundation has been at the heart of the Openwork Partnership, bringing together people across the network to support vital charities.

In that time £23 million has been raised and donated to charities, making a real difference to the lives of over 700,000 people facing difficult circumstances.

The Openwork Partnership's support

The support of The Openwork Partnership is what makes us different. All funds raised for the Foundation, plus
gift aid, are uplifted by 50% by the Openwork Partnership
which means that donations and fundraising can do so much more for causes that really matter

We encourage engagement with the whole community, making it easier for everyone to participate in charitable giving and support vital initiatives through fundraising and volunteering.

Our fundraising

Fundraising for the Foundation has always brought people from across the network together. The overseas cycle rides have become legendary, raising thousands each year, and for 2025 we are also planning a large-scale team challenge,  taking on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks together.

Individuals and teams from across the Partnership, along with friends and families, take on challenges and organise events throughout the year to support our work. From marathons and swims to balls and quiz nights, people find so many different ways to support our mission.

Our impact

Together, we have raised significant funds to support numerous initiatives focused on helping those in need across the UK.

Our current grant programmes support a wide variety of charities which work with vulnerable people. Examples include hospices, air ambulances and disability and health-related charities, as well as services supporting people experiencing homelessness, addiction and abuse.

Our two strategic charity partners, currently Dementia UK and Young Enterprise, benefit from £150,000 each over three years, from 2024-2026, and nominated charities can benefit from individual grants between £500 and £15,000 to support capital projects and core running costs.

In 2024, we donated over £800,000 to 84 charities nominated by people from across the Partnership, benefiting over 70,000 people.
